Online Bingo Continues to Spread Throughout Scandinavia

May 15th, 2010 | Comments Off | Posted in News

Having become a hugely popular activity in the United Kingdom and several other nations around the world, online bingo is becoming a globe trotter of an industry, spreading rapidly around the world in countries where wagering is a favored past time. In what some industry analysts have come to refer to as a ‘world tour of online bingo’, more and more nations are coming online with their own native or foreign branded bingo sites that cater straight to the audience of that specific country. This has lead to a major rise in bingo players that is not expected to slow down any time soon. Joining in the latest wave of nations welcoming bingo sites within their borders are the Scandinavian countries such as Sweden, and most recently, the home of mobile phone giant Nokia – Finland. This has vastly widened choices for those who wish to wager since aside from Veikkaus, the Finnish national lottery, there are not many chances to do so. While Vikkaus will be the first to produce a site geared to the Finnish market, experts who regularly observe the online bingo industry believe that this could throw open the doors for other companies that could very well seek to establish their own brands in the nation. Since the market now is non existent, the waters will need to be thoroughly tested first, but most of the major companies to offer gaming in all forms are themselves not averse to taking a shot at a potentially risky situation if they see a decent pay off around the corner.

In terms of wagering for prizes in a game setting, bingo is perhaps one of the very largest games out there, second only to poker in terms of its fan base but this fan base is growing more and more each day. This is one of the first games that was ever offered on the web and sources say that as early as 1994 there were sites on the web that offered a version of online bingo and from there it took right off. In the United States, this was a traditional game that many people enjoyed, but it is in the United Kingdom that the game really took hold and has flourished ever since. The industry in the UK brings in over a billion pounds in online bingo alone and there it is not at all uncommon to see big prize pay outs that are over a million pounds and this is becoming more common that ever before, as well. There are a huge number of bingo providers out there these days that range from mega companies like AOL, Virgin and MSN to smaller sites that are designed around a theme. This is largely thanks to the fact that there are software providers for the bingo sites that will make what are called white label gaming solutions which help the smaller sites be able to create their brand and spend their money on advertising instead of having to build giant networks on their own. Due to the massive popularity of these bingo sites it is not at all uncommon to see a huge number of players online at any given time.

In what might come as a surprise to many, the largest segment of the online bingo market is actually females between the ages of 20 and 25. This is the core group of bingo players who are attracted to the gaming sites not just because they have a chance to win prizes 24 hours a day, but also because this is a very social experience and chatting takes up a large part of the time that they spend online enjoying the social atmosphere of the games themselves. This has all worked together to create a huge industry that gives a great deal of jobs to many people who work for the different sites and networks around the world. The arrival of the bonus craze that has recently struck has brought in a growing number of people who are willing to try out the games since they have free cash to be able to do so and this move alone has made the industry grow far faster than even the most optimistic experts could ever have predicted. Today the online bingo world is a vast and ever growing one that always has something fun to offer. It is assumed that it will continue to grow and new companies come online each and every month offering their own flavor of fun for the big fan base that loves bingo on the web as it is played today.

New Style of Jackpots in Play at Bingo Sites on Web

March 7th, 2010 | Comments Off | Posted in News

In an effort to expand the industry, bingo sites on the web have been attempting to make changes to the way that they run their site, focusing closely on the aspect of the games that most players will care most deeply about: the prizes. In terms of jackpots, the vast majority of sites cater to the typical style of pot winning that requires a full bingo in the traditional sense, but a growing number of sites have been shifting to include more prizes to keep players coming back for more. These sites offer what are known as 1tg pots, an acronym that comes from online bingo chat culture and means one number to go before bingo can be called. By offering pots at this point, it allows more winners to be awarded a prize for their participation and this alone is seen by many commentators in the bingo community as an excellent means by which to ignite the excitement of players, including the more casual players who typically play fewer games at any given time.

However, some of the top bingo sites on the web right now are going even further than this to offer 1tg, 2tg and even 3tg pots for players that are almost guaranteed to raise player interest. With these features to check for those conditions during the game available and installed automatically via software that bingo players are already making use of, the number of winners in online bingo each day on the sites that offer these pots is expected to soar.

How to Play Online Bingo

One of the best things about wanting to get involved in a game of bingo over the web is that it is very simple for most people because this is a game that many of us are familiar with already since it is so often used to teach very young kids about numbers and letters. This is why it has become so popular these days – every one already knows how to play it without having to spend a great deal of time learning the rules. Still, when one is going to play online there are some very important things that they need to know and one of those is that there are thousands of different sites to choose from that range from popular brand sites that are bingo parlors in the land based sense that have an online branch or even special online casinos that also offer a range of other games. Choosing the best site comes down to personal preference and once a player has picked the site they really like, it is a smart idea to set up an e wallet account so that they can load their account with cash to play the games. These act as the trusted go between for players and the bingo providers and give a level of security to both groups. This is why many people are going to not only have one of these accounts, but also will go and look for bonuses for the casino or site they would like to join. If one can get a bonus that means they will have money to get started with and can easily get extra cash to play the games and really enjoy them. It is a very smart idea to go this way if one would like to have a great time playing bingo because having free money is always going to be a great time especially when it can be cashed in for a chance to win huge prizes.

After a site is chosen and the player has become a member, it is time to choose the room that offers the game they would like to play. There are many different styles of play and even themed nights that are offered in most bingo sites, but one of the most popular forms today is going to be 90 ball bingo. This form of bingo will give the player a great time and it is a bit longer and more complex than the 75 ball bingo that is more rare. Choosing the right cards is also important because the more expensive the card is the more money can be won. Since bingo is so social many people will chat for hours so it is important to understand the features that will help the player get the most from the game. Most software on these sites offers help in showing the cards that one has which are close to bingo and will also mark off the numbers on automatic mode. This makes playing bingo online super easy.

75 and 90 Ball Bingo

75 Ball Bingo
There are two main styles of bingo that are popular around the world and out of these two, 75 ball bingo is the most popular in the North American region. Here, the nations of Canada and the United States have come to view it as the traditional form of bingo because 90 ball bingo is not generally played here. That means that most players will only be familiar with this particular style, which is played on a 5 x 5 grid card, but is otherwise quite a bit similar to the 90 ball style of play. The players are attempting to form patterns just as they would in any other form of bingo and must work to be the first to declare bingo in order to receive a prize. The favored form of a prize is generally cash, but there are times when a physical good may be offered instead. Since these countries often have venues in their communities where bingo is offered as a charity game, there are a lot of instances where the prize may be donated by another group or business in order to give the players an incentive to take part in the game. There is a version of 75 ball bingo that is played at a hyper pace and this is known as either Speed Bingo or Quickie Bingo. The goal of this particular sub style is to increase the thrill factor of the win. The patterns formed during this type of bingo can be straight lines that are diagonal, vertical or horizontal or they may also be shapes that are more complex. Regardless,, the screen on which the numbers are called will display the requirement to win.

90 Ball Bingo
While 75 ball bingo is most popular in the North American region of the world, it is 90 ball bingo that is the king of South America, Australia and European countries. Here there is a huge passion of this particular form, but that is nowhere more apparent than in the United Kingdom where bingo is considered to be one of the top past times, especially when it comes to wagering games. Those who enjoy this game will realize that it is actually more complex than the shorter form of bingo and because of this, the games will take a little bit longer to complete. They are not usually all that much more difficult, but they definitely do require a bit more focus. The card size used is a 9 x 3 grid with a total of 15 available spaces that will correspond with a number that is between 1 and 90. Those who play online will know all about this form of bingo because it is the most prevalent form on the web today. Due to its extreme popularity, it has become big business as an online game and there are millions and millions given away in prizes each month around the game, most often from the UK based gaming companies that specialize in this type of bingo game. Normally, these games are played in multiple rounds per session.

Bingo Networks

August 25th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Guides

As the game of bingo began to get very popular on the net, it became clear that the audience was so large that only a handful of sites would not be enough to take care of all the players out there who wanted to get in on the action. This lead to a huge number of sites being set up to offer the games and really amp up the fun level. However, in order to do well the sites had to be well funded and this meant that they would need to be able to offer their own great cash prizes to those playing if they wanted to be able to attract a constant stream of new players. This is when the bingo networks first came out. The whole goal of playing bingo on the net is, of course, to have a chance to earn some serious cash, but many times this can be tough to do because there are many sites to choose from and some of them, before the networks came about, were so small that they did not offer the kind of big, juicy jack pots that players wanted to be able to have access to. The situation needed a solution and networks arose to handle things. These were big groupings of sites that connected so they could share their user bases with each other and give a fun experience to their players. By offering a large selection of great games, the sites were able to pull in more customers and then share them. This innovation really changed the way that bingo was played over the net and lead to a lot of success for those who were running the show and also gave players more options.

With this type of set up, there is often a use of what are called white label gaming solutions. What this means is that the site the player is visiting has its own theme, brand name and specific style, but it is plugged in with software that connects a lot of similar sites to bring together a large group of players and therefore provide rooms that are full of players and offering very big pots, as well. This has proven to be a winning strategy for the game industry and really made a major difference for those who needed to be able to have a site, but did now have the massive ad budget that would have been needed to get a massive swarm of players to their site. This is how many up and coming bingo sites on the web are now establishing their brand and it is leading to a large variety of different players entering, too, as different niches and interests are catered to much more closely by the smaller branded sites. A big number of software providers are now out there for these small sites and the networks have begun to thrive all over the world, especially in the UK where bingo is a massively popular past time. These big networks keep the prizes expensive and the players quite happy.

Online Bingo Strategies

Playes Starting Out
Everyone is new to bingo on the web when they are first getting started, but this is no reason to feel confused or intimidated because it truly is an easy game that does not take long to learn at all. One of the best pieces of advice that can be given to new players is to try out the test games first. These are also referred to as practice games and they can show the player the ropes in a gentle way that helps them get the hang of things long before the pressure is on. This is the best way to brush up on skills and make sure that one knows the way the site functions before there is any real money at stake.

Card Selections
Many beginning bingo players will think that since there are so many different tools in online bingo it must be a good idea to buy up as many cards as possible every game to increase their chance of winning, but this is not actually the best strategy to use all of the time. The fact is, this is still a game of chance and just because one purchases a fleet of cards does not guarantee that there is going to be more winning. It is smarter to take stock of the situation and choose an appropriate number of cards. Also, the more expensive cards are more likely to give lucrative prizes, but this is not always the case so one needs to make sure that the odds of a win are decent before choosing the way to go about buying the right mix of cards to get the best results.

Rooms: Big or Small?
Room size has a lot to do with who wins and how often. Some players will come to prefer smaller rooms because their odds of winning might be a little bit higher, but other players choose to play in big rooms because these are able to give out much more expensive prizes. In the end, the player is the only one that will know exactly what the best idea is for them, but it is always smart to pick the sort of room that one feels most comfortable in. The key is understanding that smaller rooms are easier to win while bigger rooms have larger pay offs.

Alertness is Key
Missing one’s shot to call bingo is a lot more common than it might sound like, but by remaining alert or using the built in software features provided by the site, players can gain a serious advantage. By making sure that they are doing all they can to stay on top of things instead of getting swept up in the chats, players will generally be able to do a lot better when it comes to making serious wins when they want to. This is definitely the way to go to maximize winnings every session.

The Bigger Picture
Online bingo can be a complex game and the whole idea is to budget in such a way that one is more likely to come out ahead and can game a lot more. This means using all of the strategies and tactics mentioned above in a way that suits one’s self and their goals for the game. By putting things together well, players will soon find that it can be both easy and fun to win at bingo on the web.

Bingo History

November 22nd, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Guides

One of the world’s more well known histories as far as games of wagering go, bingo has a lot of historical background that is known about its development. As wildly popular as it is today, six centuries ago it also got off to a grand start, being called the Lo Giuoco del Lotto d’Italia and arising as the clearing of the lots of Italy, as this name means in Italian. There it was a national lottery, but word of its fun would soon spread north up into France and east towards Germany. In France it would become a different game and in Germany it would grow to a tool that was used to teach children about numbers, letters and different types of animals, in a school setting. Then things would be quiet in the history of bingo and it would not be until 1929 that a traveling sales man known as Edwin Lowe would travel from his home town of New York City, down into Georgia, a US state. There he would see a carnival game being played one night that was known to the locals as beano. This clever game, he noted, attracted a large crowd and people really seemed to be enjoying themselves as they played. He sensed opportunity and immediately decided that he should create a version of the game that he could sell back in New York. This lead him to a great period of testing and working with a mathematician to develop the game we know today as bingo. He would use this design as a way to sell the cards that the game was played on and only charge people for using his idea. This made him a decent amount of money, but mainly it helped bingo spread like wild fire across the United States.

As popular as the game was in the US, it would soon travel across the Atlantic Ocean to the United Kingdom and once it touched down there, its popularity would begin to soar. The game was addictive and fun, being very simple to learn and so it became a cultural phenomenon in very short order. This lead to the expansion of its popularity and really helped create buzz for the game at the global level. People loved being able to socialize while having fun and a chance to win big cash prizes. The game of bingo as we know it today developed into 2 major incarnations: 75 ball bingo and 90 ball bingo. Both of these were popular in different regions of the world, but it is the 90 ball version that grew to immense fame in the UK that became the foundation for online bingo that is currently taking the world by storm, building upon its early success in the 1990s. The game fit nicely into the frame work of what an ideal online game should be and that is a large part of why it has done so well and today it is over a billion pound per year industry in the UK alone with more and more countries joining the 24 hour bingo revolution each month.
